Day 3- 31 Days of Halloween
It's Day 3! The weather here is getting cool, we're busting out the jackets and scarves, and my yard is FULL of leaves and fog. It is definitely fall and I can feel the crisp tingle of Halloween season! This is what inspired my project for today.
I went ahead and completed another page in my October Journal, with the idea of Halloween magic creeping in and overtaking our surroundings, as it will do throughout the month. My focus was a tree and the fog, and I went for the feeling of a cascading and dancing mist where you could use your imagination to see all the Halloween creatures that are lurking and forming within it.
The majority of this page was created using various brands and thicknesses of acrylics that I watered down, including Golden Heavy Body Acrylics in Quinacridone/Nickel Azo Gold, Paynes Gray, Dioxazine Purple, and Iridescent Bronze, and Craftsmart Acrylics in black and white . The varied properties of each type of paint helped them to meld and flow together. I added some tree details with a Pigma pen, and finally the "31" is a cutout chipboard shape that I painted and enameled.
Here are some closeups- how many creatures do you see just beyond?
Here's a shot of the page in the book.
I hope you've liked taking a deep look at this page. I'm really digging this art book thing!
